Our Mission

Our mission is to harness the collective power and generosity of women in Lancaster County to provide meaningful support to non-profit organizations that are making a positive impact on our community. By combining our resources and experience, we seek to make a significant difference in helping those in need and building a better future for all residents of our county.

Core Values

Ultimately these are the things that are keeping us unified in our mission of community-led philanthropy:

  • We believe that LCWG should be a place for women with strong minds and hearts - which we recognize comes with strong convictions of all kinds.

  • We believe that LCWG can be a place where we allow for differing perspectives to arise without needing to soften them or make them go away. We can be hard on ideas and soft on people.

  • We believe that LCWG is a place to foster curiosity, conversation, and learning about differing viewpoints or issues in a safe and respectful way.

  • We are fiercely passionate about a democratic process. Community-led, accessible philanthropy provides important opportunities to advance social change and address systems in a way that traditional philanthropy just cannot.

  • We believe that we are stronger together. We believe in the collective power of women even more than an individual or issue we disagree with. We believe we can find a common goal to work together towards.

  • We do not want to limit the inclusivity and opportunities of our members in nominating and voting for qualified organizations that match their passions and convictions.

  • We are an apolitical group. We democratically vote on the merits of the non-profit's positive contributions to our community.
